i miss the wire

(and yes, i'm STILL talking about the wire.)

wire 1

it truly is the BEST show on television. it has deeply effected me and has become the show of which i compare any tv show/movie to. i have yet to find anything half as authentic or addicting or any word you would use to describe the best show on television. i miss the kids. i miss stringer bell. i miss avon. i miss mcnulty and bunk. i miss them allllll! wire 2

i was so excited today when i was watching Law&Order SUV and kima's gf played a character in today's episode. but i got all kinds of excited when i saw wee-bey on it as well (lucky for me the casting people for my other favorite tv show was the casting people).  i literally started jumping up and down in front of the tv. this is how much i miss the wire. ive become an obsessed crazy fan.

wire 3

dont lie. you miss the wire too. i bet your catch yourself like "we gotta go to the market and re-up on the toilet paper" or when hear about Baltimore on the news or something, all of a sudden, u hear "yellow tops. yellow tops. yellow tops."  the verizon wireles ad of a burner phone caught your eye when u were reading complex magazine and know why the marketers chose that publication to advertise that in. wire 4

(totally of the subject but right before i started writing this entry, i got served an Asian Ave ad on xanga. i know xanga has a high asian user demographic but i'm assuming they are using behavorial targeting to serve that ad. i wanna know what behavorial content criterias they are using to mark my ip address as an young asian? not sure if they just launched this campaign or not but i find it interesting that i was served this ad after i searched for paebek. otherwise, i dont go on "asian" sites. wait. i did search eundaegu jim recipes before. perhaps i am asian.

wait. maybe they are using the facial recognition program on xanga and searching for hgih cheek bone structure and thats how they labeled my IP address as asian. all my friends pictures i post on here are asian. ok fine. korean. this is interesting.

or wait. maybe someone, besides myself, have gone on asian aven before and they are using retargeting strategies to get me to come back to their site. if i've never gone it before. someone else went on asian ave from this computer. robin? robin went on asian ave?? but why?!?

i'm making myself crazy. i dunno. i just didnt like that i was served an asian ave add. and i cant believe they actually found some models/ppl to sign a contract and make some money off of a dorky ass picture of themselves for the ad. i know i can be a bitch sometimes but really, i'm not trying to be right now. i'm telling you the truth when i say you just really sold out for a bad bad commercial modeling job.)

wire 5

ok. i'm crazy. back to the wire. man i miss the wire. someone told me they waited to watch the very last episode because they dont want it to end so he was trying to make it last longer. thats what i'm doing about the last season. i am in such denial about the end of the wire that i'm waiting....scratch that...i'm SAVORING the last season of the wire. that and because i dont have HBO so i have to wait to them to go on dvd. =) wire 7

so the ppl who have finished the show, dont talk about season5 in front of me cus i havent seen it yet. ok?!

wire 10

maybe its the social worker/public policy in me. but i was moved at daivd simon's farewell letter...

"If you followed us for sixty hours, and you find yourself caring about these issues more than you thought you would, then perhaps the next step is to engage and to demand, where possible, a more sophisticated and meaningful response from authority when it comes to such things as the drug war, educational reform or responsible political leadership. The Wire is about the America we pay for and tolerate. Perhaps it is possible to pay for, and demand, something more. "
